The Golden Triangle is made up of: Mijas, Benahavís and Estepona.


Mijas - an attractive city with beautiful views

Mijas consists of two parts which differ significantly from each other. Mijas Pueblo, with a long history dating back to the Palaeolithic, gave its name to the entire community. This is one of the most beautiful Andalusian "pueblos blancos", or white towns. It is situated on the slopes of the mountains and has panoramic views of the coast and the sea from almost anywhere. Whitewashed houses, lots of flowers and the unhurried rhythm of life in Mijas will delight people looking for peace. Fans of… chocolate will also fall in love with Mijas Pueblo, because the main square houses a factory that produces this delicacy using traditional methods and in various flavors.

Mijas - Costa Del Sol

Mijas Costa, on the other hand, is located - as the name suggests - on the coast and is the more touristic part of the city. Here are located apartments and villas estates, as well as the infrastructure necessary for residents and tourists. The choice of restaurants and bars serving local delicacies is huge. Mijas also has beautiful sandy beaches. Another tourist attraction is Senda Litoral, a coastal path that will connect the coast from Malaga to Manilva in the future.

In the vicinity of Mijas, many golf courses have been created, which are among the top Spanish courses and are eagerly visited by golfers from around the world.

Benahavís - a city with the most luxurious neighborhood in Spain

The origins of Benahavís date back to the end of the 11th century. It was an Arab town founded in addition to the defensive walls of Monte Mayor Castle. Today's Benahavís is a beautiful, typically Andalusian "pueblo" with traces of a rich past. You can see them in the arrangement of streets and monuments. The economy of the community is based mainly on tourism. Thanks to the excellent and rich gastronomic offer, Benahavís is known throughout Spain as "Rincón Gastronómico".

The city is surrounded by the beautiful mountain ranges of the Serrania de Ronda. And there are places worth seeing, for example "Las Angosturas". It is a narrow canyon through which the Guadalmina River flows. One of the legends tells a story about a girl who went to bathe in a pond. A strong whirlwind took her and her fiancé jumped into the pond to save her. They both disappeared into the troubled waters. Today this place is known as "El Charco de los Novios" or the pond of brides.

When writing about Benahavís, one cannot but mention the numerous golf courses scattered throughout the community. Many of them are beautifully situated golf resorts with fans among players from all over the world.

Benahavís is also the main city of the richest community in Spain. It is home to La Zagaleta, the most luxurious residential area in Spain, home to many world-famous actors, politicians and celebrities. Other well-known villa districts are also located in Benahavís: Monte Mayor, El Madroñal and El Real de La Quinta, which is currently under construction. This is a particularly interesting project because the entire district is being built at the same time. In addition to modern apartments and luxury villas, there are: an artificial lake, a golf course, a 5-star hotel and infrastructure consisting of a mini shopping center, club, restaurants and bars.

Estepona - a city where you will feel at home

The origins of the city date back to the Phoenicians, Estepona was then called Astapa. Strategically located, it played an important military role throughout its history.

From the second half of the 20th century, tourism began to develop in Estepona. In 1963, the Atalaya Park Hotel, the largest tourist complex in the area at that time, was opened. In 1967, the Hotel Atalaya golf course was one of the five golf courses on the Costa del Sol, in addition to three in Marbella and one in Sotogrande. Since then, golf courses have popped up in Andalusia like the proverbial mushrooms. There are over 100 of them here now.

Visiting Estepona, we will see the Clock Tower located in the heart of the city and the Nuestra Señora de los Remedios church from the 18th century. Plaza de las Flores will welcome you with lots of colorful flowers, and the restaurants and bars of the Old Town will satisfy even the most demanding palates. Go for a walk in the Municipal Park of Los Pedregales, which surrounds the hermitage of Saint Isidore, the patron of the city. There is a yacht port in Estepona. Estepona has 21 kilometers of coastline, so the beach offer is huge. The most famous are La Rada, Bahia Dorada, Playa del Cristo and Costa Natura, one of the first nudist beaches in Andalusia.

Estepona today is a city that lives all year round. Under the management of the current mayor who is in love with his city, Estepona grows beautiful day by day. In summer, its population triples because a lot of people want to spend their holidays here. The attractions of Estepona and its beautiful beaches lend themselves perfectly to this.

But Estepona is not only alive by tourism. Many people from all over the world have found their second (and sometimes first) home here.
